Emmanuel Adebayor claims Arsenal's success is built on the foundation of the squad being "like a family".

The Gunners are joint-top of the Premier League with Manchester United and face a Champions League quarter-final showdown with Liverpool in April.

The young Gunners saw their chances of success written off at the start of the season following the departure of Thierry Henry to Barcelona.

But explaining Arsenal's ability to exceed expectations, Adebayor told the Daily Express: "We are all the same generation. We all understand each other well, we know what we need to do.

"After the match sometimes we go into town together and have a drink and a chat. We hang out together, live together and we're like a family."

And Adebayor, who has scored 19 league goals, believes the tight bond at the Emirates has helped him develop a telepathic understanding with midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini.

"Here everyone know about the clairvoyance of Cesc Fabregas. He sees the game so clearly, better than anyone," added Adebayor.

"I don't even need to talk to him for him to know where I am - same with Flamini, I don't need to ask.

"They know I like to make runs and to receive the ball deep so we don't need to talk, all I need to do is call and the ball arrives."
